GlobeSoul

The GlobeSoul project is a collection of (related) research activities in the Computer Systems group concerning peer-to-peer networks. We are strongly collaborating with the Parallel and Distributed Systems group at the Technical University of Delft.

The aim of GlobeSoul is to obtain a better understanding of how P2P technology can be used to build large-scale distributed systems. An important application is Globule, a user-centric content delivery network that is completely decentralized and based on user-provided Web servers.

We are currently looking at various issues, including scalable epidemics (by means of newscast computing), superpeers, and decentralized clustering.

Various talks have been scheduled. You are welcome to attend them.

An extensive, and growing, list of peer-to-peer papers is maintained by Johan Pouwelse.
